born in Dachau

Between 1978 and 1983, teacher training for high school teaching certificate in Music
at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, amongst others with Max Frey
(choirmastership) and Josef Zilch (conductorship).

Since 1983, active singer with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and the
Süddeutsches Vokalensemble.

Numerous tours with both choirs, for example to Scandinavia, Israel and South America.

Since 1987, choirmaster of the Liedertafel Dachau: as a result, a great leap forward in
the choir's development of musical skills.

With a sharp eye for necessary changes, he forged new paths by introducing the choir
to the great choral works.

Since 1989, the Liedertafel Dachau has performed “Zigeunerlieder” by Johannes
Brahms as well as sacred music composed by Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart,
Antonio Salieri and Johann Sebastian Bach, amongst them Marc Antoine Charpentier's
“Te Deum”, the Oratorios “The Creation” and “The Seasons” by Joseph Haydn,
Mozart's “Requiem”, Bach's “Christmas Oratorio” and Mendelssohn Bartholdy's “Elias”,
all in the Renaissance Banqueting Hall of Dachau Palace.

On the occasion of a Passion Concert at Heilig Kreuz Church, the Liedertafel performed
sacred music written by César Franck and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

In 2003, the choir participated with Johannes Brahms's “A German Requiem”
in a Memorial Concert of Dachau's choirs which took place at the Dachau
Concentration Camp Memorial Site.

On the occasion of the 1200th anniversary of the City of Dachau in 2005, Peter Frank
conducted the Open Air Concert of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana performed by
Dachau's choirs (amongst others, the Liedertafel) in the Court Garden.

But the Liedertafel's repertoire includes also a cappella works, for example works
dating from  the German Romanticism as well as sacred choral music.
